Terms of service

1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the OriginJDM website and all transactions entered into with OriginJDM (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By accessing our website, submitting an enquiry, accepting a quotation, or making any payment, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

A binding agreement is formed when OriginJDM confirms an order in writing and receives the required deposit.

2. Nature of Business & Special Order Goods

OriginJDM specialises in sourcing genuine Japanese automotive wheels and performance components.

The majority of products sold are:

  • Made-to-order

  • Supplier-allocated

  • Custom-configured

  • Internationally sourced

“Special Order Goods” means products sourced, allocated, or manufactured specifically in response to a customer order and not held as general stock.

Due to the international and custom nature of these goods, different terms apply compared to standard domestic retail purchases.

3. Product Information

Product descriptions, specifications, and images are provided for general reference only.

Variations may occur due to:

  • Manufacturing tolerances

  • Production batches

  • Finishing processes

  • Lighting or display differences

Images do not represent stock availability unless expressly stated.

4. Pricing & Quotations

Prices displayed (if any) are indicative only and do not constitute a binding offer.

Final pricing is confirmed in writing following supplier verification of:

  • Availability

  • Specification

  • International freight

  • Duties and taxes

  • Exchange rate considerations

Pricing is confirmed in AUD.

OriginJDM reserves the right to revise quoted pricing prior to deposit payment where exchange rate fluctuations or supplier adjustments materially impact cost.

Pricing is not locked until the required deposit is received.

5. Deposits & Payment Terms

A 50% deposit is required to secure an order.

No order is placed with the supplier until the deposit is received.

Once the order is placed with the supplier:

  • Deposits are strictly non-refundable

  • The order cannot be cancelled

  • Supplier production or allocation cannot be reversed

The remaining balance is payable once goods are ready for shipment and must be paid in full prior to dispatch.

Title to goods does not pass to the customer until full payment has been received.

All payments are processed via Shopify-approved payment providers.

6. Cancellations

Orders for Special Order Goods cannot be cancelled once placed with the supplier.

Where cancellation is requested prior to supplier placement, any refund of deposit is at our discretion and may be subject to deduction of costs already incurred.

Supplier delays or extended production timelines do not constitute grounds for cancellation.

7. Fitment Responsibility

OriginJDM may provide general fitment guidance based on information supplied by the customer.

Final responsibility for fitment rests with the customer.

OriginJDM does not inspect vehicles and cannot guarantee compatibility with:

  • Modified vehicles

  • Aftermarket brake upgrades

  • Suspension alterations

  • Guard modifications

  • Alignment or camber changes

Installation of goods constitutes acceptance that the goods conform to the agreed specification.

8. Lead Times & Delays

All lead times are estimates only.

Delays may arise due to:

  • Supplier production schedules

  • International freight congestion

  • Customs processing

  • Carrier performance

  • Events beyond reasonable control

Such delays do not constitute grounds for cancellation or refund.

9. Shipping & Risk

Risk of loss or damage passes to the customer once goods are handed to the carrier.

Where delivery occurs without signature authority, risk transfers once delivery is recorded by the carrier.

Customers must inspect goods upon delivery and notify us of visible issues within 48 hours.

Failure to report transit damage within this timeframe may affect claim eligibility.

10. Warranty

All products supplied are genuine and subject to manufacturer warranty where applicable.

Warranty is limited to manufacturing defects as determined by the manufacturer.

Warranty does not cover:

  • Incorrect installation

  • Impact damage or road hazards

  • Cosmetic manufacturing variations

  • Misuse or modification

  • Normal wear and tear

Warranty claims may require inspection, return to supplier, or manufacturer assessment.

OriginJDM acts as facilitator in warranty claims but does not independently determine manufacturer decisions.

11. Refunds & Consumer Guarantees

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Under the ACL:

  • You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure.

  • You are entitled to repair or replacement if goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure is not major.

Change-of-mind returns are not accepted for Special Order Goods.

Where refunds are approved for reasons other than a major failure under ACL, transaction fees, currency conversion fees, and international banking charges may be deducted.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

OriginJDM excludes liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss.

Liability is limited to repair, replacement, or refund as required under the Australian Consumer Law.

13. Force Majeure

OriginJDM is not liable for delay or failure to perform obligations due to events beyond reasonable control, including supplier disruption, freight embargo, customs delay, natural disaster, or governmental action.

14. Chargeback Acknowledgement

By proceeding with payment, the customer acknowledges that goods are Special Order Goods sourced internationally and agrees that chargebacks or payment disputes on the basis of change of mind or supplier delays are not valid grounds for reversal.

15. Acceptance

By submitting an enquiry or making payment, you confirm that you have read and agreed to these Terms.
